ORIGINAL ART DECO SILVER PLATED TEASET & TRAY This nice looking set with angular handles on a particularly good looking tray. This is original deco period, not one of the modern repro sets. We estimate it to be later deco, c. 1940’s. No dents, some minor tarnish spots and tea tarnish to pot interior. No major plate wear, just minor wear at lid hinges.The teapot spout does have historical resoldering all round its spout but it is watertight. Some cosmetic wear to teapot handle. 2x c.19TH CARVED BONE SEWING NEEDLE CASES Here are 2 nicely carved antique pieces, one is a needle case with screw thread to lid, the other a thread holder with a hole to its lid (the top section also unscrews). GOOD 12 PLACE SETTING EMPTY CUTLERY FLATWARE CANTEEN This is a good fairly modern 12 place setting canteen, the flatware is all ‘easy fit’ as there are no definite slot measurements other than the knife slots. The knives will need to be approximately 24.5cm (just under 9.75 inches) and 22cm (just under 8.75 inches). The handle slots for the knives have good larger fittings, so should accommodate some wider handled type knives fairly nicely. GEORGE III OLD SHEFFIELD PLATE SUGAR BASKET c. 1795 A very nice piece, this is an Old Sheffield Plate swing handled sucrier complete with its probably original heavy cobalt blue glass liner. Definitely Old Sheffield, not electroplated. It will date c. 1795. Overall very good for age. There is a historical repair to the handle but its not that evident. ORNATE CASED VICTORIAN SILVER PLATED FISH SERVERS A lovely looking pair of fish servers with diamond registration marks to handles for the 1842-1867 period and we believe the date letter is ‘T’ for 1867. Fiddle thread pattern and each piece has an armorial device of a heron or crane amongst bullrushes. Comprises: 5x dessert forks, 8x dessert spoons, 6x table spoons, 1x large soup ladle, 1x large basting spoon, 1x sauce ladle, 1x sugar sifter, 1x sugar tongs. Total of 24 pieces. ANTIQUE SILVER PLATED FIDDLE THREAD CUTLASS ARMORIAL This is a part suite of c.19th silver plated flatware in the fiddle thread pattern, each piece has an armorial device of an arm brandishing a cutlass or dagger. Comprises: 6x dinner forks, 6x dessert forks, 3x tablespoons. Total of 15 pieces. All are gleaming silver but with plate wear. Fork prongs are quite sharp. CANTEEN SILVER PLATED MOTHER OF PEARL W&H CUTLERY This is an early c.20th suite of 12 place settings of ivorine handled fish knives and forks and 12 place settings of mother of pearl handled fruit knives and forks (unfortunately missing 1x knife which is 19cm/7.5 inches long), all pieces are original to the canteen and by Walker & Hall of Sheffield. The lid has an engraved shield. All have average to slightly heavier use marks. Some of the mother of pearl forks have some plate bubble/spots, one of the MOP knives has some damage to its tip and there is generally the odd spot or 2 to blades The ivorine set has some mild discoloration to handles. LARGE SUITE SILVER PLATED OLD ENGLISH CUTLASS ARMORIAL This is a large quantity of Victorian silver plated pieces in the Old English pattern, mainly by Elkington (date letters for 1891 and 1892) and some by Atkin Brothers. Each piece has an armorial device of an arm brandishing a cutlass. Comprises: 15x Elkington dinner forks, 6x Atkin dinner forks (slightly smaller), 15x Elkington dessert forks, 2x Atkin dessert forks (slightly smaller), 11x Elkington dessert spoons, 2x Atkin dessert spoons (slightly smaller), 16x Elkington table spoons, 4x Atkin table spoons (same size), 10x Elkington teaspoons, 1x Elkington smaller teaspoon, 4x Atkin teaspoons, 2x Atkin smaller teaspoons, 1x Elkington salt spoon, 1x Atkin long handled mustard spoon. Total of 90 pieces. Variable condition but the main pieces are not bad in sufficient quantities to make up a good set. Some of the handles have some heavier tarnish/verdigris that may well lift a little with some Goddards, these have only had a light foam based polish. The teaspoons exhibit the worst wear. Has its detachable drinking cup with gilt washed interior and has 2 raised panels for engraving. Has a few shallow knocks, and a dent to one corner. Cork to interior of lid has partly perished.
