Here is a full preview of todays auction updates that will be loaded to ebay from 20:15BST (19:15GMT) onwards:
ANTIQUE SET OF 4 ORNATE SILVER PLATED OPEN SALTS 1875 A nice looking and unusual set of 4 Victorian silver plated open salts raised on 3 ball feet. They have diamond registration marks accurately dating their design to 1875. Some small dents to rims and some pushes to bodies from feet, overall gleaming silver with some very minor plate wear to exteriors and some wear to interiors from salt use.
DAINTY PAIR SOLID STERLING SILVER CRUET SETS 1904 A very unusual and dainty pair of sterling silver and cut glass cruet sets by Synyer & Beddoes, both fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1904. The 2 silver salt spoons also included (not original to the sets). Overall very good, no major damage, one of the pepper pot silver rims is stuck inside one of the lids and has some slight chipping to neck but is still useable as the neck is taped to allow the lid to refit, you wouldn’t know when in use. Hallmarks to one of the base trays are rubbed. Some minor tarnish spots.
LARGE HEAVY SOLID STERLING SILVER TROPHY CUP 1907 463g A fine looking large antique sterling silver trophy cup called the ‘Association Cup’ presented in 1907 to Mr J Goodspeed’s ‘Kitty’ at Parsloes Park, Barking (Essex). Fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1907 and made by Henry Williamson Ltd. Height measurement below is to the rim and diameter is of the upper rim. Has a few dents to body, none that are that deep and it stands very nicely indeed.
STERLING SILVER CUT GLASS 19TH HOLE GOLF DECANTER 1989 A lovely piece, this is fine cut glass decanter with sterling silver rim fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1989 and with hand enameled 19th hole panel. Excellent, looks more or less unused, no chips, no cracks, no dents etc.
EXTREMELY HEAVY SOLID STERLING SILVER NAPKIN RING 1917 This is a very heavyweight sterling silver napkin ring fully hallmarked for London 1917 and made by Reid & Sons of Newcastle. No monograms. No dents or damage, minor surface marks
EXTREMELY HEAVY SOLID STERLING SILVER NAPKIN RING 1922 This is a very heavyweight sterling silver napkin ring fully hallmarked for London 1922 and made by the Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co (makers marks are part rubbed). No monograms. No dents or damage, minor surface marks
GOOD SOLID STERLING SILVER NAPKIN RING NO INITS 1920 This is a good weight sterling silver napkin ring fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1920 (date letter partly miss stamped). No monograms. No dents or damage
GOOD SOLID STERLING SILVER NAPKIN RING NO INITS 1930 This is a good sterling silver napkin ring fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1930, made by the Northern Goldsmiths Co of Newcastle. No monograms. No dents or damage
ORNATE ANTIQUE ARABIC SOLID SILVER POSY RING A very nice looking silver posy ring bearing Arabic silver markings. One small & shallow dent to body, minor marks to underside.
ORNATE ANTIQUE ARABIC SOLID SILVER TEA CADDY A very nice looking silver tea or spice caddy bearing Arabic silver markings. A few shallow dents to lid and some knocks to the underside rim but in overall very good shape.
RARE SOLID STERLING SILVER FIDDLE SPORK ADAMS 1863 This is a very nice and very rare solid silver ‘Spork’ in the Fiddle Thread pattern, made by George Adams and fully hallmarked for London 1863. No monograms. No dents or damage, some feint surface tarnish to bowl interior.
SOLID STERLING SILVER CANDIDA SOUTH AFRICAN SPOON 1940s This is a good early South African sterling silver sugar spoon, the handle topped with a tribal woman carrying a baby on her back. Made by Candida, dates c. 1940’s. No dents or damage, minor surface marks
2x ANTIQUE SILVER PLATED & BRASS SOVEREIGN HOLDER CASES Here are 2 sovereign cases. The silver plated has 2 sprung compartments for sovereigns and half sovereigns, the brass one has a gilt interior and a sprung compartment for sovereigns and hinged compartment presumably for stamps. Silver plated one: gleaming silver, overall light surface marks and a couple of plate spots. Brass one: Some tarnish to exterior and one of its arms to the interior stamp holder is broken, though it still works.
ANTIQUE MOTHER OF PEARL CASED OPERA GLASSES A lovely pair of Victorian opera glasses glad with mother of pearl, in original green leather case. No dents or damage, working order, no loss of mother of pearl. Some cosmetic wear to the gilt brass finish. Case has some scuffs, clasp is broken, lid is loose at 1 hinge. No carrying strap.
LOVELY CASED ANTIQUE COMPACT RED LEATHER OPERA GLASSES A very stylish looking pair of antique opera glasses with red leather chamber covers and in original red leather case. Working order, some minor cosmetic wear to the gilt brass finish. Case very nice with minor scuffs.
BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE SILVER HAIRBRUSH CHESTER 1901 This is a lovely looking sterling silver backed hairbrush fully hallmarked for Chester 1901. Profusely decorated with florals and with a central shield area. Made by Nathan & Hayes. Some dents to the shield area. Slight rattle to interior of the handle. Bristles fairly good with slight discoloration. Overall it’s a very nice looking dressing table piece.
ANTIQUE STERLING SILVER CHERUBS JEWELRY BOX MAUSER NY This is an antique jewelry box by the Mauser Manufacturing Co of New York, the lid having a lovely pierced work cherubs/putti decoration with cloud type swirls and rose embellishments. There is a raised central monogram ‘TPSJ’. The interior is velvet lined and has 3 compartments. Silverwork is in fine condition. The paper covering to the box has generally decayed a little with age and it would be good to get it restored to its former beauty. The velvet interior has slight discoloration.
ANTIQUE STERLING SILVER CHERUBS NAIL BUFFER 1901 A lovely piece in the Cherubs (aka Reynolds Angels) pattern, made by master silversmiths Levi & Salaman and fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1901. No damage to the silver, some minor tarnish. The chamois leather has some discoloration.
ANTIQUE STERLING SILVER CHERUBS CLOTHES BRUSH 1903 A sterling silver backed clothes brush incorporating cherubs/putti in its pattern. Fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1903. Some holes to the silver and small knocks. Bristles good.
STERLING SILVER MILITARY BUTTONS SGC FATTORINI 1915 A lovely pair of sterling silver buttons with presumed regimental device of S.G.C above a rampant horse. Made by Fattorini & Sons, fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1915 and retailed by Johnson Walker & Tolhurst of London. Both in fine condition.
