SUITE OLD ENGLISH SILVER PLATED SPOONS FORKS SHEFFIELD This is a good suite of spoons and forks in the Old English pattern, all are Sheffield made. There are 6x Dinner Fork, 6x Small Side Fork, 4x Pastry Fork (1 is shorter than the others) + 4x soup spoons (1 is longer than the others), 2 table spoons, 2 slightly larger table spoons and 1 pudding serving spoon. STERLING SILVER CUT GLASS VANITY JARS CHESTER 1898 A lovely pair of jar with ornate sterling silver lids fully hallmarked for Chester 1898 and made by Arthur Cash. They are nicely monogrammed with a conjoined ‘MAM’. Overall very nice, just a couple of tiny knocks to the silver and 1 tiny fleabite to one of the jar rims. ANTIQUE STERLING SILVER HOBNAIL GLASS PIN JAR 1907 A lovely looking piece of hobnail cut glass with sterling silver lid fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1907 and made by the Boots Pure Drug Co. STERLING SILVER OLD ENGLISH TEASPOONS LONDON 1795 Here are 4 matching teaspoons made by Stephen Adams and partially hallmarked for London 1795. Old English pattern and no monograms. They are very lightly used for their age! Sharp bowl points with very minimal wear. Some very minor knocks to bowls. Hallmarks range from clear to part rubbed. STERLING SILVER OPEN SALT NORTHERN GOLDSMITHS 1922 A sterling silver open salt pot complete with blue glass liner, fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1922 and made by the Northern Goldsmiths Co of Newcastle. Silver weight is 29g. No dents, liner fine. There is some residual salt related tarnish both to interior and exterior that may lift with some Goddards treatment. CASED STERLING SILVER SHOEHORN & BUTTONHOOK 1910 A lovely antique cased set of ornate sterling silver handled shoehorn & matching buttonhook with silver plated on steel lowers. Handles are fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1910. Both pieces in nice condition with minor use wear and some minor knocks to the silver handles. CASED STERLING SILVER SPOONS & TONGS SHEFFIELD 1895 This is a nice looking cased set of sterling silver spoons and tongs by Henry Wilkinson, fully hallmarked for Sheffield 1895. Each piece incorporates figurals of a knight to handle. In original green silk & velvet lined fitted case. Silver weight is 90g. No dents or damage and not too heavily used. GOOD CASED STERLING SILVER SALTS & SPOONS 1910 This is a very nice cased set of 4 sterling silver open salts with matching salt spoons, each is fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1910 and was made by E S Barnsley & Co (Edward Souter Barnsley). Silver weight is 108g. In good condition, no major dents, a couple have minor pushes to the feet visible to interiors (not a big issue). 2 of the salts have slightly rubbed hallmarks. SUPER STERLING SILVER MANICURE VANITY SET 1909 A lovely arts & crafts period gently planished sterling silver manicure set by Deakin & Francis, each piece fully hallmarked for Birmingham with dates ranging 1906 thru 1909. Comprises 2x crème pots, 1x nail buffer, 1x brush, 2x scissors, 1x nail file. Each piece is monogrammed with ‘MCM’. In original fitted case. There are no pieces missing. Generally very good. VICTORIAN OAK & SILVER PLATED SALT POTS WITH SHOVELS A lovely pair of mid c.19th novelty open salts of oak and ceramic barrel form construction with silver plated mounts and we presume their original silver plated salt shovels. No dents, plating is part worn to the pots but overall gleaming. One pot is missing one of its fixing screws to the upper plated band. The shovels gleaming silver with minor wear. GEORGE III IRISH SOLID STERLING SILVER LARGE SALTS An impressively large pair of heavyweight sterling silver salts raised on 4 claw and ball feet and with pierced work and swag decoration. Each bears partial hallmarks for Dublin (no date letter) and the makers mark of ‘SN’ is clearly visible to one of them. The only ‘SN’ recorded is Samuel Neville, but he is not known for making pieces like this. There are liners 2 each, one looks to be original. Silver weight is 167g. One salt is overall very good, no major dents or damage and just some tarnish mainly to interior and underside. This one has its shaped probably original liner which is in very nice condition. The other salt is slightly out of shape, dents and small splits to the base rim and its liner has rim chips. GBP199.99 click here to view item in our store
WILLIAM COMYNS ORNATE STERLING SILVER VASE 1900 A lovely sterling silver vase by William Comyns, fully hallmarked for London 1900. Has a heavily weighted lead base to prevent toppling. Has a couple of dents to stem but stands very nicely. There is a small dab of ‘electrical’ solder to a tiny part of the raised decoration towards the base, it doesn’t really notice much. HEAVYWEIGHT 4 PIECE SILVER PLATED TEA & COFFEE SET This is a fairly modern but well plated set, very heavy and with chunky wooden handles. Probably 1970’s. Pot capacities are approx 1.5 pints each. ANTIQUE SILVER PLATED TEA URN SAMOVAR This is an antique silver plated on copper tea urn (silver plated on brass tap) of quite large proportions. We believe it is of probably of east European/Turkish area origin. Overall gleaming silver with exposed copper to lid, handles and parts of body. One dent to body to rear and some smaller knocks here and there. It is intact although 1 of the handles is slightly loose. Some splits at the seam join of lid with its vertical rim. LARGE ANTIQUE ORNATE COPPER SALVER TRAY This is a very nice looking early c.19th copper tray (originally would have been Old Sheffield silver plated on copper but virtually all of the silver has gone). PAIR OLD SHEFFIELD PLATE MEAT COVERS WITH ARMORIALS Here are a graduated pair of silver plated on copper meat covers dating c. 1820, each with the same armorial device above the Latin motto ‘Hoc Age’ (trans: ‘Do This’). Detachable handles. The smaller one is 31cm by 22.5cm by 16cm high and the larger one is 34.3cm by 27.8cm by 17cm high. Both have a fair degree of silver loss but still look quite nice. GEORGE III OLD SHEFFIELD PLATE CHEESE SERVER C. 1820 This is a genuine and original Old Sheffield Plate toasted cheese server. It has an armorial device of an eagle displayed, lovely turned wood handle and filling cap to the handle (for filling with hot water – there is a reservoir beneath the main flat serving section). The lid deliberately detaches from the base via its hinge slots. The underside is tinned. Overall gleaming silver with very little exposed copper. The reservoir has been resoldered all around the base and around the handle join. Handle is slightly loose at its pins but good enough, small crack to the wood. The lid finial has an area of roughness where its chain loop once extended (the chain would have joined the other loop on the handle). GBP124.99 click here to view item in our store

UNUSUAL STERLING SILVER PEPPER POTS CHESTER 1895 A pair of sterling silver pepper pots by James Deakin & Sons, fully hallmarked for Chester 1895. Unusual body shape for the period. Some minor knocks, mainly at the top rims. No major dents. One stands slightly off the vertical. One lid has a split along its seam join of its lower rim (that fits in the pot) and is currently a bit on the loose side – it would ideally need something wound around its rim to keep it in place on the pot. It is fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1923 and made by Adie Brothers. Monogrammed with a conjoined MVB. Gilt interior. Has a couple of very shallow surface knocks. SOLID STERLING SILVER 3 PIECE TEASET 1935 1116g This is a very good looking 3 piece set by Wm Hutton & Sons, fully hallmarked for Sheffield 1935. In the George III style and a reproduction of a 1780’s set as stated on their bases. The teapot is 2 pints capacity, weighs 695g and is 28cm spout to handle. The sugar bowl weighs 251g and is 17cm across the handles. The milk jug weighs 170g and is 13.5cm spout to handle. No dents or damage. Minor surface marks only. Some tea tarnish to pot interior. SUPER DECO CANTEEN SILVER PLATED ROBERTS & BELK CUTLERY This is a lovely high quality oak canteen by Roberts & Belk of 6 place settings arranged over 2 layers. Comprises 6 each of Dinner Knives, Dinner Forks, Side Knives, Side Forks, Soup Spoons, Dessert Spoons, Fish Knives, Fish Forks, Tablespoons + 11 teaspoons, 2 sauce ladles, 1x sugar tongs, sugar spoon and preserve knife. Total of 70 pieces. Retailed by Gowlands of Sunderland. The oak chest has 2 good carrying handles and an unengraved shield to lid. Has its key. All gleaming silver and generally not too heavily used, visible surface marks but no plate wear. The dinner & side knives show very little use to blades, a couple have some minor edge digs. Wooden chest is in overall good condition, minor surface marks and its baize to underside is a bit shabby from age. The lock mechanism is a bit temperamental, working sometimes and not others.
