COLLECTION OF VINTAGE CIGARETTE LIGHTERS RONSON ETC This is a good ‘job lot’ of 10x vintage cigarette lighters, 1x Japanese gilt on black lacquer cigarette case and an antique silver plated vesta case. Total of 12 pieces. The lighters include 2x Ronson Queen Anne silver plated table lighters, Ronson Newport silver plated table lighter, Ronson ‘bowling bowl’ shaped lighter, Ronson Adonis, Viking & Standard pocket lighters, a deco Polo pocket lighter, a Colibri Monopol and a Parr Mfg Co ‘UL’. Generally good, the bowling ball shaped lighter has a dent and there is cosmetic wear to some of the others – these will need a clean up and some attention but most should be fine when re-flinted and fueled. All of the mechanisms are working.
LARGE QUANTITY ANTIQUE VINTAGE SILVER PLATED ITEMS This is a large table full of antique & vintage silver plated items. All kinds of things from candelabra to teapots, claret jugs, mustard pots, sauce boats, cigarette boxes, bowls, goblets etc. Sold together as 1 lot there are a total of 73 pieces. It is a heavy lot at over 19kg unpacked weight. Variable and as found. These have not been polished, some are fine, some will have plate wear or need replating, some have dents, some have damage/need repair. Overall its quite a nice lot.
GEORGE III OLD SHEFFIELD PLATE SILVER PLATED TANKARD This is a nice old piece of Sheffield Plate (real silver on copper) – a pint sized tankard bearing marks of a hanging lamb above letters ‘I H B’ above the number ‘6’. It looks like it originally had a lid. Probably late c.18th/early c.19th. Gleaming silver with partial copper bleed. In overall good shape, historical resoldering at top handle join area where the lid would have sat originally and slight rim splits where the lid would have joined and to the lower base rim. This is not watertight, it is sold as a historically interesting display piece, not for use.
VINTAGE CHRISTOFLE GALLIA SILVER PLATED SWAN SAUCE BOAT This is a lovely vintage silver plated sauce boat and matching ladle by Christofle of Paris in their Collection Gallia range. The swan’s neck formed from the ladle handle and the swan’s body from the sauce boat. No dents or damage, no plate wear. Gleaming silver with slight use marks only.
UNUSUAL GEORGE III STERLING SILVER PEPPER POT c. 1805 This is a nice looking George III sterling silver pepper pot with pierced work lid and gilt interior. Hallmarks are right on the edge of the lower rim and not will stamped but you can just make out the top half of the capital letter ‘K’ and duty mark, so probably London 1805. Has a dent to lid and split to footrim but its good and sturdy thick gauge silver and very useable.
HESTER BATEMAN STERLING SILVER SUGAR TONGS C. 1790 A pair of George III sterling silver sugar tongs by Hester Bateman, bearing partial hallmarks for London of lion passant & duty mark only (as is fairly normal for this period). Bright cut decoration with monogram ‘FM’ which is probably contemporary. No repairs. The pattern is part rubbed but a good pair structurally
PETER & WM BATEMAN STERLING SILVER SUGAR TONGS 1808 A pair of George III sterling silver sugar tongs by Peter & William Bateman, bearing partial hallmarks for London 1808. Bright cut decoration with contemporary marital monogram of ‘M over W*E’ Very good, no damage or repairs and good clear pattern
VINTAGE NOVELTY SOLID SILVER TURRET PEPPERETTE This is a nice older piece of continental 800 standard silver (definitely not modern) in the form of a turret. Minor knocks to lid otherwise fine. We have deliberately left this in unpolished condition to show its age, it should polish up nicely.
VINTAGE NOVELTY SOLID SILVER BIRD SALT POT This is a nice older piece of continental 800 standard silver (definitely not modern) in the form of a small song bird, probably a Wren. No dents or damage. We have deliberately left this in unpolished condition to show its age, it should polish up nicely.
