Following items go live on ebay today from 19:15GMT onwards for 10 day auction. Some very nice walking sticks here, Zulu knobkerrie, good souvenir spoons and a lovely piece of Chinese export silver/enamel.
FINE STERLING SILVER INKWELL REID & SONS 1912 A lovely looking piece fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1912 and made by Reid & Sons of Newcastle. Monogrammed ‘AJ’ to base. Weighted base. No dents, some surface scratches to one side, no glass liner.
LOVELY PAIR ANTIQUE SILVER PLATED HOTELWARE NUT BOWLS A fine pair of bowls by Martin Hall & Co of Sheffield, each is engraved with ‘Galashiels Café’ Both gleaming silver, no dents or damage. There is some minor plate wear to undersides and a small patch of plate loss to 1 rim. Minor surface marks.
VINTAGE STERLING SILVER ABALONE SPOONS NEW ZEALAND A nice boxed set of sterling silver and abalone spoons from New Zealand in their original Disabled Serviceman’s League card box. Spoons weigh 52g. In fine lightly used condition. Box has some marks, corner tears and scuffs
CUTE STERLING SILVER CHILDS HAIRBRUSH 1926 This is a very cute looking small childs hairbrush with ‘full length’ bristles. Fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1926. No monograms. Some small knocks and marks to the silver but no major dents, one small split to the rim but absolutely smooth to touch. Bristles are slightly bald at edges.
ANTIQUE STERLING SILVER HOBNAIL GLASS SCENT BOTTLE A good looking square based hobnail cut glass scent bottle with larger diameter aperture. The silver collars hallmarks are completely rubbed but will be early c.20th. Some chips to the base area at corners (in particular one corner) but all are fairly smooth and don’t notice much. The stopper has chips to its rim but these cant be seen when in place. There is some minor residual bloom to interior from previous contents.
STERLING SILVER BRIGHT CUT SUGAR TONGS ADAMS C. 1790 A good looking pair of sugar tongs by Stephen Adams I bearing partial hallmarks of Lion passant and George III duty mark. Good bright cut decoration with contemporary initials ‘AW’ to bow. No dents or damage, no pattern rub, mild tarnish to interior.
SOLID STERLING SILVER FIDDLE TEASPOONS NEWCASTLE 1828 A part set of 5 sterling silver fiddle teaspoons fully hallmarked for Newcastle 1828, makers marks rubbed but probably James Bell. Monogrammed ‘JMJ’ In generally good shape with some minor knocks and minor tarnish. One handle has a small dig to front at one side.

LARGE QUANTITY VINTAGE SILVER PLATED SOUVENIR SPOONS This is a bulk lot of vintage souvenir spoons and similar pieces, mainly silver plated. Various ages and places from all around the world. Total of 113 pieces all sold together. Generally good, these are in unpolished condition. There are a few (five if memory serves) that have lost their badges but most are fine, intact and will look very ncie with a polish. A few have some wear with age etc.
ANTIQUE CHINESE EXPORT SOLID SILVER ENAMEL DRAGON BOX A beautiful and unusual piece of early c.20th Chinese export silver, this is a lidded powder box with deep repouse decoration of a dragons face to lid and 2 opposing dragons to base. The enamel is a vibrant blue. Signed to underside. Overall good, there are minor losses of enamel at the base rim area and some small dents to the base.
CHURCH LADS BRIGADE SILVER MOUNTED SWAGGER STICK 1931 An ebonised swagger stick with sterling silver end cap bearing the motto and emblem of the Church Lads Brigade. Fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1931. Cosmetic wear to the stick and some knocks to the silver, minor split at the join seam of the top of the cap but smooth to touch etc.
GOOD VINTAGE RIDING HUNTING WHIP NORTH HUISH 1920 A nice looking ‘crop come whip’ with good binding and a nice unmarked silver mount engraved ‘NORTH HUISH 1920’. North Huish is a village in Devon. Good for age, end of the whip has frayed a little but has been tied off. There is 1 ancient worm hole to the handle, no worm present!
ANTIQUE ZULU KNOBKERRIE CONVERTED RIDING WHIP CROP This is a very nice piece, an original Zulu knobkerrie with carved name ‘GODWAN’ and with later conversion to a hunting crop/whip. Stick is fine with digs/wear from probable ‘battle’ use, some wear to the leather whip but intact.
ANTIQUE AFRICAN ZULU WIRE BOUND WALKING STICK A very nice Zulu walking stick, the shaft bound top to bottom in copper telegraph wire and the knob with brass studs. Due to length this has to come via courier/Fedex. Very nice, slight bend at bottom but absolutely rigid.
UNUSUAL ANTIQUE CARVED MARBLE HAND WALKING STICK A very unusual stick, unsure of its origin – the top is a lovely carved marble in the form of a hand in which the wooden handle grip is inserted. It is brass tipped and has a rubber end cap. Due to length this has to come via courier/Fedex. Structurally fine with some minor cosmetic wear mainly to one side of the handle join at the marble.
FINE PAIR OF CARVED VINTAGE MAORI WALKING STICK A beautiful ‘near pair’ of vintage carved Maori sticks with abalone inserts to handles. They have large rubber ‘Sherpa’ brand end protectors which have probably always been there and have a New Zealand registration number. Due to length these have to come via courier/Fedex. Both in excellent condition
ORNATE STERLING SILVER MOUNTED EBONY WALKING STICK A good looking stick with ornate sterling silver pommel fully hallmarked for London 1925. Due to length this has to come via courier/Fedex. Minor cosmetic wear to stick, some dents to the silver but no splits.
ANTIQUE BRASS TROY OUNCE NEST OF SCALE WEIGHTS A very nice antique brass set of nested troy ounce weights – the middle ‘3’ weights are either 1 weight or 3 that have stuck together over time – they do not come apart. They are NOT accurate. Some cosmetic wear from age and slight ‘filing’ of a couple of the weights.
