LARGE OLD SHEFFIELD PLATE CENTREPIECE DISH STAND Item #28961 An impressive piece of Old Sheffield Plate by I&I Waterhouse made c. 1835 decorated with grapes & vines and roses and raised on 3 scrolled feet. The top dish holder unscrews and is made to take a bowl of about 6 inch lower base diameter with a 2 inch central base diameter. Originally it would have had 3 arms that slotted into the 3 numbered slots at the central area for further bowls, these are sadly no longer with the piece but its still a lovely thing! Very heavy. Gleaming silver with some minor copper bleed. Slight lean and slight dent to the top section. GBP149.99 click here to view item in our store

24 PIECE ANTIQUE SILVER PLATED MOTHER OF PEARL CUTLERY Item #29146 A fine looking set of 12 knives and 12 forks with carved mother of pearl handles and ornate engraved silver plated uppers. Made by Walker & Hall of Sheffield. They come in ‘half’ of a case (missing its lid). Handles all good with no chips and just some minor cosmetic cracks at ferrule areas to a few. CANTEEN SILVER PLATED RATTAIL COOPER BROS SHEFFIELD Item #29147 A vintage suite of silver plated flatware in the Hanoverian with Rattail pattern and accompanying knives with ivorine handles. All made by Cooper Brothers of Sheffield. Comes in a Butler Cavendish wooden case. Note that the teaspoons for some reason are Old English rather than rattail but still by Cooper Brothers. There are 6 settings of dinner fork, dinner knife, side fork, side knife, dessert spoon, tablespoon, fish knife, fish fork, teaspoon. Total of 48 pieces. Generally very good, one teaspoon has a small dig spot to its bowl, one of the fish knives has some pitting to its blade and there is some minor wear to the rear rattails of the fish forks, otherwise not that heavily used, the steel bladed knives all good etc and case good with minor scratches. GBP124.99 click here to view item in our store

ANTIQUE WALNUT TRAVELING CASE FITTED INTERIOR 1876 Item #29156 A lovely antique ladies traveling case in walnut veneer with mother of pearl name plate and escutcheon, the interior fitted with glass and silver plated boxes inkwells, bottles and jars. There is engraving to the box lids ‘AHR 1876’. Has a ‘secret drawer’ to side. The lid has a pull out mirror concealing a correspondence compartment. Externally fairly good with some slight cracking of the veneer at one rear corner of the lid and slightly along the other side. The secret drawer has lost its spring but is still accessible. Interior fittings are fairly good, the inkwell lids are firmly stuck in place however. Some dents to the jar lids. The case exterior has several early railwayana labels for London & South Western Railway, LNER, GNER. Has its key. Initialed ‘MIE’ to exterior which is repeated in the silver lids. The rectangular box lid is silver plated rather than sterling silver. Case good for age with scuffs from use as intended. Some dents to the silver lids, glassware ok, one has cork stuck in its base.
