CASED ORNATE STERLING SILVER CREAM & SUGAR SIFTER 1895 Item #29125 A lovely cased pair of sterling silver cream jug and sugar bowl with matching sugar sifter spoon – made by T Beardsmore and fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1895, the sifter 1896. Each piece is engraved with monogram ‘EE’ and ‘1899’. Silver weight is 128g. 1 tiny knock to the underside of the sugar bowl (and very tiny!) hardly notices. LOVELY ART DECO CUT GLASS SILVER SCENT BOTTLE 1928 Item #29129 A very nice looking art deco scent bottle with silver collar fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1928 No damage to glass of the bottle (just some tiny fleabites) – lid does have a chip to its top. All gleaming silver with some minor use wear to fronts and some more obvious wear to rear of forks from resting on tables etc. Still a lovely and useable set. Case good with minor scuffs. No key. The scimitar blades are made by Madin of Sheffield. Both blades exhibit some surface rust and need a professional buffing. They are both structurally fine. SUITE EARLY C.19TH COWHORN HANDLED STEEL CUTLERY Item #29209 A part suite of table knives and forks with carved and polished cowhorn handles and steel uppers. These will probably date c. 1820-1840. Made by John Wigfall of Sheffield. There are 6 forks and 4 knives. Very long prongs and blades. They have some issues but sill interesting and solid pieces. Most pieces are missing their end of handle caps which will need replacing before they can be used. Some surface rust. The blades and fork prongs are actually very lightly used with not much wear at all. 2 of the knives and 2 of the forks have handles cracks where it meets the steel, but are still rigid. SUITE C.19TH NEWCASTLE LARGE STEEL AND IVORY CUTLERY Item #29210 A rare suite of mid c.19th Newcastle made large cutlery knives by Brown & Son of Grey Street. The handles are ivory and the ferrules and mounts are unmarked silver. They do need attention but are a fine looking set. 8 of each length (+ you get a ‘spare’ of an extra dessert knife with a damaged blade but might be useful for the handle or ferrules etc). BEAUTIFUL CANTEEN CHEST SILVER PLATED CUTLERY 1881 Item #29261 A fine looking c.19th flatware chest for 18 settings of fish eaters, of which 6 settings are present and bear diamond registration marks to handles for 1881. The 3rd layer is concealed via a well sprung ‘secret drawer’ to the base which is accessed via the interior release button. Beautifully lined in purple velvet and puffed silk to interior, the exterior is equally beautiful with inlayed boxwood and walnut veneer and a vacant brass plaque. The forks are 19.5cm long, the knives are 23.5cm and were made by Thomas Bradbury & Sons of Sheffield. Case bears Sorley of Glasgow markings. Exterior is good with some minor cracking to veneer and a small piece of missing veneer to lid, interior lovely, flatware/cutlery all fine. No key. GBP124.99 click here to view item in our store
