WINTON GRIMWADES WELBECK CHINTZ BUTTER DISH & BOWL Item #29636 2 lovely looking vintage chintz pieces by Royal Winton/Grimwades in the ‘Welbeck’ pattern. The butter dish is 16.3cm long and the bonbon bowl is 13.6cm diameter and 9cm tall. Butter dish: No chips or cracks, has overall glaze crazing with some mild staining from use. Bowl: a few small chips to rim and a hairline but not that visible. Some slight glaze crazing. The bowl has a slight lean on its pedestal base to one side but it was how it was made! Green Cornish Kitchen Ware by Berit Ternell c. 1958, this is the largest sized stick handled casserole and is huge compared with the more usual, although still rare, smaller ones. Interior has some discolored glaze craze lines and there is 1 short tight hairline to rim. The lid knob has been off and reglued in place at some stage but it is a very good job! Its not one that can be used due to its issues (not that you would anyway) but still super on display. Total silver weight is 149g. Mustard pot: fine with some minor tarnish mainly to interior and hidden by the liner. Liner good with some minor rim nibbles. Spoon fine. STERLING SILVER FIDDLE THREAD SHELL CHILDS CUTLERY 1856 Item #29641 A nice trio of fork, spoon and knife in the fiddle thread shell pattern. The fork and spoon are fully hallmarked for London 1856, maker A B Savory & Sons (William Smily) and the knife for Sheffield 1855 maker John Oxley. Each piece is monogrammed ‘FWL’. Spoon: a couple of pinhead sized bowl knocks but in good overall shape. Fork has some teeth marks to rear of prongs and prongs slightly out of perfect shape. Mustard pot has original glass liner, salt pots have replacement liners that are not a perfect fit but do the job. Silver weight is 172g. Pepper pots are 7.3cm high, salt posts are 5cm diameter. Overall good with some minor knocks, not too much tarnish, liners all fine. One of the pepper pots finials has a lean. ANTIQUE STERLING SILVER CHERUBS BRUSH & MIRROR a/f 1904 Item #29662 A sterling brush and mirror in the Cherubs pattern. Both are slightly ‘as found’ but useable. The brush is fully hallmarked for London 1902 and made by William Comyns, the mirror fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1904 and made by Henry Matthews. Mirror: Glass good and useable with just minor marks/spots – it looks to have been replaced at some stage. The silver has some dents and holes and a little roughness around the mirror glass but smooth to touch at handle. Brush has splits at handle but not rough to touch. Silver weight is 27g. Open salt has some tarnish but structurally fine and good liner. Pepper pot is fine with just a shallow knock to internal rim hidden when lid is in place. Lid fits snuggly. GOOD STERLING SILVER FLOWER VASE WALKER & HALL 1929 Item #29682 A very nice looking sterling silver vase by Walker & Hall, fully hallmarked for Sheffield 1929. It has a weighted base but even so it is very thick gauge silver.
