HEAVY EARLY C.20TH JAPANESE CHRYSANTHEMUM CIGAR BOX Item #29956 An exceptionally heavyweight early c.20th Japanese plated copper cigar box decorated with deep repouse work chrysanthemums and with wood lined interior. Could of course be used as a jewelry box and perhaps was originally intended to be one, it does have a lock to front, no key. GOOD ANTIQUE SEMI FLUTED SILVER PLATED COFFEE JUG Item #29962 A nice looking antique silver plated coffee jug with very nice wooden handle and removable lid. Approx 1.5 pints capacity. Gleaming silver, no plate wear other than minor wear to top of spout edges. Interior quite clean. Handle has some cosmetic minor cracks in the wood but it absolutely solid and smooth to touch. RARE OLD SHEFFIELD PLATE SILVER PLATED TANKARD c. 1760 Item #29963 A fine and rare Old Sheffield Plate tankard dating c. 1760, looks to have a variation of Tudor & Leader’s punch marks (upside down) at the rim. Wooden underside. Very nice scroll handle ending in heart shape terminal. Gleaming silver with minor copper bleed. A few small dents to lid and minor dent to rim. Made by James Dixon of Sheffield. 1 pint capacity teapot. Gleaming silver with minor wear mainly to the sugar bowl from use. One minor dent to teapot body, fairly clean interiors. Tinned interior. Gleaming silver with very minor copper bleed at beaded decoration. Minor dents. Slight push at the footrim. Couple of shallow dents to teapot, lower of teapot handle has a historical repair and a slight push but doesn’t detract too much. Interior mildly tarnished. Decorated with applied carved strawberry plant in an art nouveau style, probably is a period piece. Minor cosmetic wear to the wood and a couple of small sections of the rim decoration missing. VINTAGE SILVER PLATED PARAMOUNT HOTEL FREETOWN WARE Item #30014 Here are 4 vintage pieces of plate for The Paramount Hotel Freetown – although there is a Paramount Hotel in Freetown Sierra Leone this is probably from Freetown in Scotland. Comprises sugar bowl, pepper pot and 2x salt pots. Sugar bowl is by Elkington and accurately dates to 1960, other pieces by BSL. Heavyweight pieces.
