ANTIQUE SILVER LETTER OPENER HORSE HAND MEASURER Item #30251
This is a lovely piece with a personal history as I actually found it about 30 years ago in the garden of an Inn in Horsmonden in Kent – Horsmonden was famous for its annual horse fairs and maybe coincidentally this piece has a graduated 4 inch rule equivalent to a horse ‘hand’ measure. This piece is definitely silver although not hallmarked, so technically sold as ‘white metal’. The front has the word ‘Mems’ to top above a conjoined monogram of ‘RF’, the rear is graduated into 4 approximate inches (they are a little larger than inches) numbered in Roman numerals. Very slight kink but in good overall shape

Here are 2 lovely old markers – one is the ‘Pall Mall Whist Marker’ and the other we presume is a Bezique counter Whist marker is fine – it doesn’t have any physical symbols etc on the markers so we presume this were applied paper stickers that have rubbed off with age.
