SMITH SEYMOUR SILVER PLATED CUTLERY FLATWARE 62pc Item #30221 A vintage suite by Smith Seymour of Sheffield, it doesn’t have a recognised pattern name that we know of but it has a nice stylistic rose pattern to handles with registered number 898207. Comprises 6 each of dinner fork, side fork, dinner knife, side knife, soup spoon, dessert spoon, fruit spoon, pudding spoon, coffee spoon + 5 cake forks, 2 tablespoons and 1 pudding server spoon. Total of 62 pieces. Note that the 2 of the main knives have longer length blade than the other 4 but same length handles. Gleaming silver with average but not excessively use marks, very presentable. UNUSUAL ANTIQUE SILVER PLATED COVERED SUGAR BOWL Item #30433 A very nice and unusual silver plated handled sugar bowl with lid and ceramic liner made by Bishop & Stonier in their ‘BISTO’ range. The bowl itself is by Davies & Powers of Birmingham. You could of course use it for other things e.g. a bowl for chutney, jam, dips etc. No dents or damage, gleaming silver with some minor tarnish spots. Potter of Sheffield in original velvet and blue silk lined case with Potter’s stamp in gilt to interior. The spoons are a ‘composite’ set in that 2 of them have slightly different pattern to the others. They appear to have always been together, all pieces by Potter and all pretty much unused. This set is c. 120 years old. Gleaming silver and very lightly if ever used. As mentioned 2 spoons are different pattern. One of these is slightly ‘misstruck’ to top of handle area. PAIR ANTIQUE SILVER PLATED ENTRÉE DISHES WALKER & HALL Item #30444 A pair of silver plated entrée dishes with beaded rim decoration and detachable handles so that the lids can be used as secondary serving bowls if desired. Some slight wear but still good and useable. Both are gleaming silver with some plate wear and some utensil marks etc but look reasonable enough. ANTIQUE WEDGWOOD DARK BLUE JASPERWARE PITCHER JUG Item #30446 A very nice Victorian dark blue jasperware jug by Wedgwood complete with original Martin’s patent pewter and ceramic lid – you push the side button to lift the lids spout area for pouring. No chips or cracks, minor surface grime from age. There is minor surface cracking of the raised white slip at the handle joins, this is perfectly normal for these pieces – its not any damage to the handle. ANTIQUE OIL LAMP WITH GOOD NOUVEAU STYLE GLASS SHADE Item #30448 A very nice looking antique brassized oil lamp complete with original dual burner, glass chimney and nice cream coloured pressed glass shade with raised floral pattern. The glass is probably from a Northern England manufacturer but has no makers marks. No real damage, burner still in working order, just some minor nibbles to the glass base where it rests on the brass frame. Gleaming silver, some minor plate wear at hinge area and lower body but it hardly notices as the piece is seriously gleaming! Minor cosmetic cracks to the lid finial. Some dents to body but again these are fairly lost in the overall ornateness of the pot. Minor area of historical resoldering to one top side of spout seam join. Interior has tea tarnish. AMERICAN SILVER PLATED COFFEE PERCOLATOR SAMOVAR Item #30465 This is a nice vintage Universal 006 silver plated on copper coffee percolator/samovar by Landers, Friary & Clark of New Britain – Connecticut, USA with patent markings, the latest one is dated 1919. It has ebonised handles and tap finial and is complete with original burner and all parts. The glass lid is Pyrex glass. Gleaming silver, some minor tarnish marks and a few very shallow knocks to body. The burner has some spots to surface and no longer adjusts but is still useable. ANTIQUE SILVER AND MOTHER OF PEARL COLD MEAT FORK Item #30494 A beautiful old piece, this is an American cold meat fork with mother of pearl handle joined by a sterling silver marked band. The fork is also silver but unmarked, so technically sold as ‘white metal’. It was obviously a well loved piece. Slight knocks from use. Cosmetic surface crack in the mother of pearl at ferrule area and a tiny chip to its end but smooth to touch. Natural recess to rear of handle in the MOP, not a chip. ANTIQUE 15ct GOLD SOVEREIGN CASE CHESTER 1901 Item #30518 A 15ct gold sovereign case fully hallmarked for Chester 1901 with 9ct rose gold platform sprung coin platform. There are feint traces of a rubbed armorial device to lid. Weighs exactly 15.7g on our scales. The 15ct gold case weighs 12.7g of the total. Has some issues but still a functional piece. Some overall shallow knocks to the case and a couple of small splits that are just visible at the case interior but they hardly notice. Rubbed armorial device to lid, possibly an erasure attempt. DAINTY ANTIQUE HOBNAIL CUT GLASS SILVER PLATE CRUET SET Item #30527 A delightful little Victorian cruet set, the glass is beautifully hobnail cut with cross cuts and formed to fit perfectly into the silver plated frame base. The base was made by Thomas White of Sheffield. Mustard spoon is a later replacement by Old Hall but works well with the set. Plating is gleaming silver with partial wear but it doesn’t really notice much with the glassware in place. Glass is overall very good with some tiny fleabites. What looks at first glance like a small crack in the salt pot lid is actually just a scar from manufacture – it is just on the inside of the lid, doesn’t come through the piece so not a crack.
