ANTIQUE STERLING SILVER VESTA CASE MATCHSAFE 1892 Item #31651 An early engine turned sterling silver vesta case fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1892, maker T.H (possibly T. Heatley). No monograms. A couple of shallow dents, slight rub to the pattern. There is a slight split along the natural seam join to one side but it doesn’t cause any functional issues and is smooth to touch. Sheffield made, probably a mark of Parkin & Marshall. Stand is gleaming silver with some partial plate wear to the flat surface where the bottles rest. Not as gleaming silver as it once would have been but will still look lovely when filled with hatpins! The base is weighted at underside. The hatpin shown IS included in the sale. COLLECTION OF VINTAGE SILVER PLATED RONSON TABLE LIGHTERS Item #31713 Here are 5 vintage Ronson table lighters, 4 are Queen Anne pattern. These are in unpolished condition, 2 look to have some tarnish guard on there surface that will need stripping back before they polish up nicely. The non-Queen Anne one definitely will have some residual surface marks. Mechanisms all seem fine other than 1 of the Queen Anne’s will need some attention. ANTIQUE DUTCH BRASS ENGRAVED TOBACCO BOX EARLY C.19TH Item #31718 A nice old piece of Dutch brass, either late c.18th or early c.19th. Engraved with part worn scenes to lid and a Dutch motto to underside. The interior of lid has a small loop fitted which we presume was to hold a small clay pipe or similar. Minor knocks, pattern part rubbed. One end of the hinge is missing a small piece of brass where there is evidence of a historical resolder attempt but its fairly minor. A nice piece overall. It has a tinned underside for some reason and appears to have originally had side handles and feet, but looks very nice as a flat tray. Early ‘Ostrich’ mark. Minor dents, we haven’t polished this. ANTIQUE SILVER PLATED LION MASK OAK AND GLASS FRUIT BOWL Item #31721 A lovely older piece, probably Edwardian. This is paneled oak bowl with silver plated lion mask handles and rim and a vacant shield mounted to front. The lattice work pattern pressed glass liner we presume is original as it fits perfectly and there are natural wear marks to the interior of the wooden bowl from where it has rested over the years. ANTIQUE SILVER PLATED LARGE TOASTED CHEESE SERVER Item #31726 A c.19th full size toasted cheese server with turned wooden handle. The interior hot water reservoir is accessed via a sliding cover to the handle base. Gleaming silver, some very minor knocks, nothing major. The handle has a silver patch and slight historical resolder and minor split at its lower joins but it doesn’t notice much and isn’t structurally of any consequence. The reservoir filling flap looks to be tinned over copper and a replacement as there is no logical chain loop to match the one on the handle near the wood. Nicely wicker bound handles. Approx 2 pints capacity. Gleaming silver with a couple of minor and shallow dents to the body and a slight push to the handle. Some copper bleed to the lid.
