This really is a splendid piece and Pete will be sad to see it go! Beautiful chased and engraved lid, lovely Bacchus and paw feet and complete with its 2 original liner trays. The makers mark is not recorded but it is probably an early mark of A. Beardshaw & Co of Sheffield. The piece dates stylistically c. 1870
Condition: Gleaming silver, one small dent to lid and some minor surface marks to lid. The interior base has some minor wear. The legs are slightly askew and have been padded to stop them scratching a tabletop. It stands very well and simply looks stunning!
